ABOUT US
Your Principal Teacher, Ingrid Ulpen
I love being a teacher! With more than 30 years’ experience as an educator, I have worked with students of all ages and many different backgrounds. The joy of seeing someone develop their potential and master new skills makes every day exciting and satisfying.
Everyone has a unique and fascinating story to tell. Part of my story is that is that my father came to Australia as a refugee after he lost contact with most of his family during times of war and revolution in Europe. He spoke four languages and read three different scripts before learning English. Unfortunately, I am confident in using only one language! However, I believe that through my family’s experiences I may have some understanding of the challenges and frustrations you may be feeling as you move into new places.
I grew up in Adelaide and came to the Northern Territory as a young teacher seeking adventure. After several years in remote and rural communities, I made Darwin my home. The tropical colours and warm sea, the friendly people and cultural diversity every day in Darwin offers things to enjoy.

I look forward to helping you on this stage of your journey!
